Hasty Lace® templates are made of heavy laser-cut plastic. The designs consist of many 1mm holes in the template which you can use to emboss and pierce paper. The most commonly used paper is translucent vellum. When it is embossed, light weight vellum can resemble brocade. This is an elegant look for a frame or background. Heavier translucent vellum, when pierced and embossed can resemble lace, beading, and cross stitch. You can make large spectacular pieces to hang on the wall or small intimate pieces to accent a card.
The templates can also be used to pierce opaque paper, just as you would do for paper piercing in general. The difference is that the needle is finer, and the holes are smaller and closer together. The effect is striking.
You can extend the design that is on a template, or use just part of it. You can combine parts of one design with another. The possibilities are so broad that I consider the Hasty Lace® templates to be more like using a paint brush than following a specific pattern.
