This design was originally part of a large repeating border, and the template includes an overlap in the design so that you can make a repeating border too. Technically, a griffin (griffon, gryphon) should have the head and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion. This creature has a human head, so it might have a better name. If you know what it is, please let me know.
Since it is rather large and specialized I made just one image on the template, instead of the usual symmetrical pair. It isn't the most versatile design, but it is full of personality! You can use a part of the Griffin, the narrow border above and below, or the larger border along the bottom. Don't be confused when you see the template which faces the other way! When embossing the design you work from the back, so your work will be reversed on the front.
