Hasty Lace® templates consist of a sturdy sheet of plastic that has many 1mm holes cut in it. To make a design you place some translucent vellum on top of the template and use a 1mm ball tipped tool to press the paper into the holes. The process couldn't be simpler. If you can see the holes and hold a pencil you can do this!
Don't be deceived by the simplicity of the process: there is a lot more you can do with the templates! There are two tools for piercing the vellum. These, along with the embossing described above can give you a shading effect by making some dots whiter than others. You can use colored vellum as well. And with opaque cover stock and the Single Needle tool you can create beautiful pierced designs. It's just like paper piercing, but the holes are smaller and closer together and the needle is finer.
With the most basic techniques you can make things that imitate (convincingly!) cross stitch, beading, lace, and brocade in a fraction of the time it would take to make the real thing.
The designs you make don't need to look like the one on the template. You can use a part of a design, extend the designs, and mix different designs together for endless possibilities. Go to the Video page or click on the video below the picture on the products pages to see the process in motion. Click on any of the designs on this page to get started.
