The inspiration for this design came from a small photograph of the original piece of lace that I spotted at the National Art Library in London. It was a German book of "Tulle Work" which is a technique that is less modular than Lacis which is the where most of the Hasty Lace® designs come from. This made it very difficult to work with, which I did for several years on and off (when I got frustrated); but kept at it because I love the design so much. I did my best to remain true to the spirit of the original piece of lace.
