The Borders make fabulous frames.
They are in a different group because they are in strips, instead of
corners. Don't ask me why. But here they are in all their Baroque glory.
You can
ask why they are in pairs of strips. The designs are not symmetrical on
their own. They are in reflected pairs so that they can be embossed.
The holes in the templates are cupped and larger on the front side of
the template. On the back the holes are smaller and flat. They only
emboss properly from the front (You can't just flip it over.). When
these designs are embossed on thin (17 lb.) vellum and just wrapped
around a backing they look very convincingly like brocade. They make
sumptuous backgrounds as well.
BR1 is the most flowery of the group. Just wonderful for reflected
designs. And when I say reflected I mean i used a mirror to find the
best spots to use. Check out The Paper News newsletter no. 6 to see how
