There are two horses in this very large hunting design. I can imagine the one on the left appearing in a circus. The pose is so common in circus posters! So many motifs in traditional designs appear over and over again, and spill over to other media. It is easy to remove the vine that crosses in front of them if you move your vellum around to fill in the space around the vine. Of course, the design is also lovely as a detail of the original pattern. Parts of the vine can be used separately too.
