The holes in the templates are cut to 1mm, and this 1mm Ball Tipped Tool fits into them very nicely. You may have other tools with a ball tip, but if the ball is too big to go all the way into the hole, you won't get a solid bump. If the ball is too small you may wind up tearing a hole in the paper instead of making a bump. Think of Goldilocks, and go for the thing that is just right!
