When I was wrapping packages for Christmas, I decided to make gift tags with each recipient's initial as the main decoration. I made some scoring templates (now called Hasty Trace™ templates) for the letters and frames. After tracing, I filled the spaces with Hasty Lace® designs, much like the Quilt designs I had made earlier in 2015. The tags were a hit, and that got my creative juices flowing: why not make some kits for you to enjoy too?
The design idea morphed into making banners (although tags can be made too), and became a very complicated project that I worked on steadily for 5 months. The result is some very cool kits. My hat is off to those who make lovely kits! It is truly challenging.
You will find four kits in this group. There are extra letters in each kit that allow for lots of interesting, and sometimes humorous, sayings. If you need more letters there are complete alphabets available as well. The decorating for the initials was originally done with Hasty Lace® alone, but as this project progressed I found myself using clear vellum and coloring the letters. This was so much fun that I added decorations in the Hasty Trace™ format which can be colored as well.
The frames that surround each letter seemed to need a different kind of embellishment made with Hasty Lace® templates. Shifting things around to make them fit the frames was tedious, so I designed special templates for the kits.
There are instructions in each kit for specific projects with information and samples to guide you in your own creative explorations. I hope you will find the kits rewarding and useful for many projects!
