This is a solid design on a square grid. I use it most to fill in a small area and set off  an area nearby that has been embossed from the other side of the paper. You could make some other designs with it by embossing selectively, but it is a lot easier to use a template with the design you want to use already laid out for you.

This template costs more than the others because it has to be cut on the laser in two passes.
