There are two clear plastics that we recommend for making Globes. One is Dura-lar™ which is quite clear. The other material is the overhead transparency plastic (OTP) that you can get at an office supply store. It isn't as clear as Dura-lar™because it has a coating on one side for inkjet printing. This is handy if you wish to tint the plastic.
You can also print images on OTP which can be used very effectively to make layers of imagery that can be incorporated into other models. Hearts and Eggs are excellent shapes for this technique.
